Movin' Out

During our last week in Georgia, Charles' dad, Gene, came up and preached at our church Sunday - Wednesday. It was a wonderful time, and God really blessed us and refreshed us. The Hixsons came up to hear Gene and to visit with us. We ate popcorn and ice cream, and they didn't mind the boxes and stuff that were everywhere. :)

As you can see from the pictures, we've been packing, packing, packing, packing, packing... we've finally gotten stuff into storage (thanks largely to our crew of helpers!!) and we were exhausted by the end of it! We took a few days to rest and relax at Charles' Aunt Rita's house.... she keeps a supply of ice cream and Little Debbie Cakes. :) It was not the healthiest few days, but we really enjoyed it! We'll be visiting several churches in Louisana while we're here. We spoke at Cornerstone, a church Charles' parents started, and loved it! They're a very warm and welcoming church, and we shared lots of laughs and a delicious lunch at Hong Kong. :)

Anyway, here are some of our moving pictures. We'll keep you posted on our activities and progress and maybe have a video of us singing soon! :)

Ta-Da!!! :) All done! Thanks so much to all of you who helped!
Keep us in your prayers as we live in transition and continue to raise support. And stay tuned for more regular updates!

Yard Sale, Schedule, Flight

In preparing for our move to France, Charles and I had a yard sale. It was going to be Friday and Saturday, July 31 and August 1, but we got rained out on Friday. We got up early EARLY early both days and set up... and we made breakfast biscuits (sausage, chicken, and ham) and coffee to sell to hopefully boost our profits. Sales didn't go well, though, and now our fridge is full of biscuits. We didn't have as many customers as we'd hoped, but we did make $200 which will help with the cost of the moving truck. We're also going to try again on August 15 and put our stuff together with the church preschool yard sale. Here are some pictures:

Today, Charles did some Internet price-hunting and found plane tickets for us... we're flying to Paris for $864. :) Then we'll take a train to Limoges, which is close to Egletons. Here's our schedule so far:
August 15: Yard Sale with church
August 16-19: Bro. Gene (Charles' Dad) speaking at New Bethel
August 21: leaving Georgia, moving stuff into storage unit in Lafayette, LA
August 22-September 5: Support raising in Louisiana
September 6: big send-off party and meal at New Bethel Baptist Church, Carnesville, GA
September 8: travelling to Virginia
September 13: speaking at Manassas Baptist Church
September 16: flight to Paris (will arrive afternoon of 17th)
September 18: train to Limoges, to be picked up by the Misegades
It's all coming up pretty fast... so far, we've raised $1,500 in support :) so we still have a long way to go, but we're very encouraged by our supporters' generosity. Please keep us in your prayers as we continue to raise support and prepare to leave our home in Georgia.
